German: Beginners

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understanding a range of basic vocabulary
  • Ability to greet, introduce, and ask for basic travelling requirements
  • Ability to count in German
  • Ability to order food and introduce family members
  • Develop new vocabulary for time, hobbies, work, and shopping
  • Develop a basic understanding of German grammar

Learning Methods:

This is a face-to-face class running for 8 weeks with class one day a week.

  • Nominative pronouns, formal vs. informal pronouns, and the German alphabet
  • Ordering food and using manners
  • Gender of nouns

  • Different cases and grammar knowledge
  • Days of the week and time vocabulary
  • Clothing, colours and transactions
  • Adjectives and forming plurals
  • Birthdays and months of the year
  • Directions and travel vocabulary
