Subsidied Courses
Many of our accredited programs are subsidised by the NSW Government. If you are considering undertaking nationally recognised training with us look for the words “This course is subsidised by the NSW Government” on the page of the course you want to do. Call us to discuss your eligibility for any of the following funding avenues.
Smart and Skilled
Individuals: Smart and Skilled provides individuals aged 15 years or older, including Home Schooled Students registered with the NSW Department of Education, with subsidies in qualifications up to and including Certificate III levels. Fee exemptions are available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and students that meet the Smart and Skilled disability criteria.
To be eligible you must also:
- live or work in NSW (or be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person living in specific defined interstate NSW border areas),
- be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen,
- have a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI). Don’t worry, we can help you get one of these if you don’t have one.
Adult Community Education (ACE)
Students that are undertaking courses up to and including Certificate IV and meet one of the criteria below are eligible to a fee-free scholarship, which means they do not pay a fee.
Criteria:
- are the dependants of a recipient of Smart and Skilled specified Australian Government welfare benefits or allowances; or
- have been or are in out of home care; or
- have experienced or are experiencing domestic and family violence.
Note: Fee-free scholarships are not available to students undertaking Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualifications. Students that are the dependants of a recipient of Smart and Skilled specified Australian Government welfare benefits or allowances are eligible to pay a concession fee. Find out more.
Adult Community Education funding covers a wide range of our short courses, both accredited and non-accredited, built specifically for our local communities to develop essential skills for work and daily living. Every one of our ACE funded courses is unique having been contextualised and customised to create targeted critical skills development.
