Yoga - Hatha and Pranayama

Recharge your batteries and rejuvenate your body and mind through an 8-week workshop of pranayama (breathing exercises), surya namaskar (sun salutations warm up exercise) and 12 basic yoga asanas (postures). Enjoy a traditional, slow paced, meditative class that helps encourage proper breathing, flexibility, strength and vitality in the body while calming the mind.

Topics Covered include:

5 points of yoga Basic warm up stretches - eye exercises, neck exercises, leg raises Two basic forms of pranayama - anulom vilom and kapalbhati Sun salutations (a revitalising warm up exercise) 12 basic postures - shoulder stand, plough pose, fish pose, locust pose, cobra pose, triangle pose, bow pose, forward bend, inclined plane pose, crow pose, half spinal twist and head stand.

Course Outcome

Students would have learned the proper yogic way of breathing, revitalising sun salutations and the 12 basic asanas of hatha yoga. They would have learned the benefits of each asana and how it impacts their muscles and organs. The course will leave them feeling inspired, refreshed, centered and peaceful.
