Topics Covered include:
Introductions - refresh theory, accounting v's bookkeeping, accounting equation, accounting terminology, double entry accounting, debits and credits. Refresh or update prior knowledge of the theory behind bookkeeping. Understand MYOB, how it works and what it is capable of. GST - Cash v's accrual, profit and loss, balance sheet, class quiz. Understand the difference between cash and accrual, P.L and B/S and when we use cash/ accrual accounting. Practical activities - MYOB overview, chart of accounts, card file, MYOB features/ preferences. Sales, purchases, inventory. Enter sales (invoices), receipt payments, trade debtors reports. Enter purchases (expenses) make payments. Trade creditors reports. Spend money and receive money v's pay bills and receive payment. Payroll, clearing accounts How to set up employees and use payroll. Bank reconciliation's (Not just bank accounts) How to reconcile accounts - not just bank accounts. Bas link - GST, Class assessment Balance GST reports to BAS Link. Set up BAS link.
