Topics Covered include:

1. Identify main points of conversations to determine topic. Identifying participants to determine purpose 2. Identify main points of conversations to determine topic. Identifying participants to determine purpose. Extract key information and topical vocabulary to follow meaning 3. Use and respond to formulaic expressions to open and close dialogues Use one-clause questions to elicit information Use one-clause statements to convey information Respond and take turns to maintain interactions 4. Respond to and use simple requests for clarification or repetition Use a limited range of basic tenses to convey information Use a limited range of vocabulary related to the topic Pronounce key words with sufficient clarity and stress as to be intelligible 5. Students will listen to a 2 person conversation between friends talking about their family to gain key information and vocabulary 6. Students will listen to a 2 person conversation between co-workers talking about their work to gain key information and vocabulary 7. Students will hold a 2-person conversation in which they will chat with a partner about the past weekend and take turns to maintain interaction. Students will be required to listen, question and answer. 8. Students will hold a 2-person conversation in which they will chat with a partner about their family and take turns to maintain interaction. Students will be required to listen, question and answer.
