This class is for confident learners of English that would like to further their knowledge and build upon their skills. Previous training and/or exposure to the English language before attending is essential, as well as the ability to use the computer and internet. Topics Covered include:

Students will acquire further knowledge of adjectives in English to use in various situations Exposure to these adjectives will be through learning about inspirational people (Australian and International) They will then write about a person who is inspirational to them Students will be given difficult situations and/or topics of controversy (i.e. equal pay) and engage in a debate in what they believe is the best outcome/solution Students will discuss their own talents/skills Gain new vocabulary and learn how to speak about themselves in various situations (i.e. when attending an interview) Students will learn about the etiquette's of writing emails in different contexts (work, personal, complaints etc.) Students will gain skills in speaking in relation to the future and possibilities, engage in discussions and share views. Grammar aspect will include the use of future tense Students will improve their writing/grammar skills by writing a draft/finalising a letter to their future self. The letter will be about the current situation and the changes they hope for the future/requests they have for a better world in times of digital dependency. Students will learn and discuss wishes and regrets - speaking/writing Grammar activities will include use of conditionals Students will learn about and discuss environmental factors that affect nature as well as natural disasters to increase their vocabulary

Course Outcome

Learners will exit the program with the ability to communicate using advanced English vocabulary as well as gain the confidence to integrate into various aspects of Australian society
