Description The 4th trimester is a term given to the first 3 months after a baby is born. This is when you start getting to know and bond with your baby as a new member of your family. It also a time of great change, adjustment and many new parents have told me they wish they had been given more information about what to expect. Topics Covered include: What to expect after your baby is born and during the first 3 months of development Discussions about newborn crying and communication, what is normal and the Period of PURPLE crying. An overview of newborn sleep needs and cues as well as strategies to enhance healthy sleep habits. An overview of normal feeding patterns in this period An overview of infant massage, the benefits and how it might be used Some self care tips and strategies as well as information about where to find help Course Outcome At the end of this program participants will have a deeper understanding of what to expect during the first 3 months of their babys life. Information provided will cover a range of topics relevant to this stage of parenthood that will help new parents feel more confident. It will also help promote bonding and give parents some tools that will aid their transition into parenthood.
